Here is an example using estimated figures. Please be aware that these figures are only estimates and will likely not reflect exact payouts.
Hypothetically, if Tuesday had 16 teams, there would be at least 64 players, and 128 games played. After a bunch of math, you end up with the league taking in about $20,000. Take away $1000 for expenses, another 300 for 8 ball breaks and table runs, and $9600 for the $2.50 for each win and you’re left with about $9100. This $9100 gets destributed through that pay scale above, so with 16 teams, the prize fund would look like this:
st $1140 $399
nd $1064 $342
rd $988 $285
th $912 $228
th $836 $171
th $760 $114
th $684 $57
th $608 $0
th $532
th $456
th $380
th $304
th $228
th $152
th $76
th $0
In the above table, I’ve also included the pay scale for 8 teams, to give a better idea of how things would look in other situations. Again, please note that these are only estimates, as the payouts depend on fluctuating expenses, 8 ball break and table run payouts, sub fees, players who play both tuesday and wednesday, and a number of other factors.
Please note that the league members present for the vote felt that this payout structure will incentivize lower ranking teams to maintain their enthusiasm levels for the entire league season as the monetary value for moving from 12th to 11th place on Tuesday night is the same as moving from 3rd to 2nd place.
